Getting Started With P3O® Foundation

Let’s Get Started

Welcome to the P3O® Foundation Distance Learning course from PMO Learning which you’ve just signed up for.

Over the course of the next six weeks, you’ll be receiving emails from us that take you through the P3O Foundation course, getting you ready to sit the examination.

You’ll be receiving learner modules by email plus the content becomes available week-by-week in your learner account.

In this introduction page, there are a few things you need to know before we start the course.

We cover the textbook; the modules; the syllabus, the exam and the pre-course reading.

You’ll also find details about the learner forum.

There are six modules to the course, these are:

You’ll be receiving an email every week about each module.

The P3O Syllabus

The syllabus for the course is not only showing you what the course contains.

This is an important document as it clarifies exactly what you need to know for the Foundation exam (and the uplift for the Practitioner exam).

The P3O Foundation Exam and Manual

When you signed up for the course; we registered you for an exam voucher and P3O Manual ebook. You’ll receive an email directly from Peoplecert with instructions on how to book your exam date and access the P3O Manual ebook in their portal.

Peoplecert are the examining body for the P3O courses and you’ll be registering to take your P3O Foundation exam later when you feel confident you’re ready to do so. The voucher is valid for 12 months.

We recommend taking the examination within two weeks of completing this course with us. The exam format is:

60 minutes 75 questions
35 marks to pass
Closed book
PeopleCert use an online proctoring for exams.
Please read their computer pre-requisites and details of how to test your system before taking the exam.

Pre-Course Reading

The pre-course reading gives an overview of the content of the P3O manual. This provides you with some guided reading to help you get the big picture.

The purpose of this guide is to sketch, in outline, the big picture of Portfolio, Programme and Project Office (P3O) guidance, to enable someone attending a P3O course to have their bearings right from its beginning.
