Just as there are many different [types of PMO] there are also different types of positions in PMO.
The PMO Certification and Specialist courses from PMO Learning cover all four levels of a PMO practitioner’s career and take into account the type of PMO a practitioner works in.

Essentials Certifications for Teams
The House of PMO Essentials courses delve into the PMO roles outlined in the PMO Competency Framework, and outlines the key skills, behaviours, competencies and responsibilities of those working in PMO roles.
The certifications are called PMO Essentials and the four include:
- PMO Essentials for PMO Administrators
- PMO Essentials for PMO Analysts
- PMO Essentials for PMO Managers
- PMO Essentials for PMO Directors
The certification courses will be accredited by APMG, the global examination institute, and all four certifications are available to book through PMO Learning.

P3O® Certifications for Teams
The PeopleCert P3O® certifications have been available since 2008.
The P3O® certifications are ideal for those working in or leading a PMO.
PeopleCert have two P3O® certifications:
- Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices (P3O®) – Foundation
- Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices (P3O®) – Practitioner
The Foundation level focuses on the P3O® model and you’ll learn about the model and the different concepts involved.
The P3O® Practitioner is the next step and is ideal for those looking to design, implement and manage a PMO.

MoP® Certifications for Teams
MoP® is particularly useful if you are setting up a Portfolio Office or organisation-wide PMO and are looking for best practice to inform your approach to implementation.
MoP® (Management of Portfolios) is comprised of principles, techniques, and practices that will assist your organization in the successful adoption of portfolio management.
PeopleCert have two MoP® certifications:
- Management of Portfolios (MoP®) – Foundation
- Management of Portfolios (MoP®) – Practitioner

Project, Programme & Portfolio Governance Professional (P3GP)for Teams
PG3P is the first global certification in P3 Governance based on the P3G Publication by TSO, authored by Ross Garland & Adrian Morey.
The Project, Programme and Portfolio Governance (P3G) course provides the knowledge and understanding necessary to design, implement and operate effective and efficient governance arrangements for a project or programme, or your organization’s entire change portfolio.

Benefits Management and the Role of the PMO for Teams
This course is designed for people in PMOs looking to understand and implement Benefits Management within an organisation.
This two-day course is an excellent inhouse course for anyone working with Benefits Management too.

Assurance for PMO Professionals for Teams

Carrying out the right reviews at the right time can help keep a project on course – or get it stopped if it’s going wrong! But assurance is much more than just reviews; it’s about everything that happens in and around a project to ensure risks are properly managed and that good decisions are made.
This course describes how you as a PMO professional fit into the project assurance landscape, and how you can help ensure that project assurance is effective and efficient.

Lean-Agile PMO for Teams

The course is designed for PMOs and senior change stakeholders as they make the changes necessary to support agile and traditional projects, programmes and portfolios.

Continuous Improvement for the PMO (2 days)
This course encourages PMO leaders to consider how their PMO operates, its goals, and its OKRs. It also encourages PMOs to ask how efficient their project delivery methodology is.

Facilitation Fundamentals for the PMO (1/2 half day)
This half-day workshop provides the fundamentals of facilitation, using a number of typical PMO scenarios, with tools and techniques and hints and tips on how to undertake the role of an effective facilitator.

Project Sponsorship and the PMO (1 day)
This workshop considers the role of the Sponsor and explores the challenges, and potential strategies and tactics to overcome them, when implementing effective Sponsorship within an organisation.

Coaching Skills for the PMO (1 day)
In this interactive and practical introductory course we will debunk some of the myths about coaching and look at how different types of coaching skills and techniques can be used day to day by PMO professionals.

Foundations of PMO Leadership (1 day)
In this course, we will look at the fundamentals of leadership and how they apply to the PMO. You will learn about the fundamental roles a leader needs to play and the skills you need in order to play them effectively.

Unlocking Business Agility through Portfolio Management (2 days)
This course explores the critical success factors for effective portfolio management and identifies strategies and tactics to address organisation blockers.

The PMO’s Guide to Effective Retrospectives (1/2 half day)
This course explores how the PMO can support delivery teams by facilitating innovative and relevant retrospectives that people will want to engage with, and by mentoring agile teams and helping them to run effective retrospectives of their own.
