PRINCE2 Agile® for PMO Practitioners

The Lean-Agile PMO one day course has been a great success and well received by PMO practitioners looking for guidance on how to support both traditional and Agile projects. The course goes deep into areas such as reporting; governance; planning; benefits management and risk – all those areas which are imperative to get right.

To support this course, we’re announcing today the addition of the PRINCE2 Agile Foundation Certification as a cost-effective way to increase your Agile knowledge and at the same time understanding how traditional (PRINCE2) and Agile fit together.

The course is available via eLearning and we’ve partnered up with Logical Model to make this cost-effective course available to you.

Why You Should Consider It

If you’ve not had the opportunity to gain some Agile related training yet – and don’t believe a full-blown Agile course is for you – take a look at PRINCE2 Agile Foundation.

The PRINCE2 Agile Foundation certificate is new for 2018 and we believe it has just the right amount of knowledge you’ll need as a PMO practitioner to gain the basics in Agile delivery approaches.

The course was recently piloted by Logical Model and feedback from the delegates is available for you to take a look at.

This sounds familiar from Claire:

One of my many challenges was in how to adapt my framework and methods to work with agile teams. While agile makes perfect sense for their work, I still need to manage the overall project and keep stakeholders abreast of progress as part of a larger project or programme being run with PRINCE2.

Another, from Shane, working in PMO:

Looking for a certification that complements practical experience”. PRINCE2 Agile Foundation merges PRINCE2’s governance strengths (facilitating leadership and sponsorship to guide and support development’s direction) with ‘agile’ insight. The result is agile’s pragmatism about avoiding bureaucracy, being delivery oriented and adaptive at the development level is integrated to PRINCE2’s ability to meet control needs at the investment level – As a PMO leader, Project or Programme Manager this is heaven-sent common-sense in a certified and auditable wrapper!

What’s Covered in PRINCE2 Agile Foundation?

The syllabus includes the following:

  1. The key concepts related to projects and PRINCE2 – that covers the principles; themes; processes; products and responsibilities of PRINCE2
  2. The key concepts related to projects and PRINCE2 Agile – including agile ways of working; ‘blend and weave’ PRINCE2 with Agile at all levels of a project and getting into the roles and responsibilities of the PRINCE2 Agile team.
  3. Understanding how the principles; themes; processes; products and responsibilities of PRINCE2 are tailored and applied in an agile environment
  4. Understanding the agile ways of working – the key terms and techniques – that’s things like backlogs, sprints, spikes, SCRUM, retrospectives and so on.
  5. Understanding the PRINCE2 Agile focus areas of agilometer; requirements; communication and frequent releases.

Why We’re Recommending It

It covers the basics of Agile delivery approaches that we’re currently seeing in the corporate environments. It’s a straightforward course that any PMO practitioner at any level can pick up and learn.

It’s eLearning so you can do the course at your own pace – in your own environment. No time spent outside the office.

It’s certified so you’ll get the PRINCE2 Agile Foundation certification.

It’s great value for money – it’s £299 and that includes your exam cost.

The course includes:

  • 9 hours of video instruction with the tutor visible (Why do I care? – Well its much easier to concentrate and listen when you can see the person talking and not just stare at the PowerPoints!) and highly animated slides (Why do I care? – Because when the picture builds its much easier to understand the relationships between elements).
  • Multiple revision aids re-presenting contents in ways that build your recall and check your understanding
  • The Foundation exams in revision – question by question – mode and in mock-exam against the clock mode.
  • A years instructor support (but you probably only need a week or three)
  • Foundation Exam Voucher for online proctored exam available 24 x 7 x 365 – valid for 12 months

With the PRINCE2 Agile Foundation eLearning course – at a price that suits most pockets – is there a better way to increase your understanding of Agile delivery approaches?
