The Change Management course stems from The Change Management Institute and is based on the Effective Change Manager’s Handbook – which is aligned to the Institute’s Change Management Body of Knowledge (CMBoK).
Change management is a fascinating subject and can really help a practitioner guide people through the changes that happen as a result of programmes and projects. We’re all resistant to change in one way or another and this course combines practical approaches with theory steeped in psychology.
The course is available at both Foundation and Practitioner levels.
Why should I take the course?
When you’ve worked in projects for a while, you see the impacts of change regularly and often experience the frustrations of people adapting to change. Change management – or bringing the people with you – is a discipline packed with practical approaches to overcoming resistance and helping people through change.
Many PMO practitioners enjoy this aspect of their roles – either working with Project Managers to help change stick – or using change management approaches to ensure the PMO is well supported in the business. Change management techniques are also great when mentoring, coaching or supporting others in the organisation.
If you enjoy the people aspects of projects – some change management training will be ideal for you.
The course, accredited by APMG, focuses on different aspects including stakeholder management; communication; management; readiness, facilitation and benefits management.
For those looking for formal accreditation the Foundation and Practitioner courses are available to take online now.
