Why Essentials Certifications?

 

The Essentials Certifications from the House of PMO include four levels; Essentials for PMO Administrators, Essentials for PMO Analysts, Essentials for PMO Managers and Essentials for PMO Directors.

The House of PMO Essentials courses delve into the PMO roles outlined in the PMO Competency Framework, and outline the key skills, behaviours, competences and responsibilities of those working in PMO roles – delegates can expect to leave the course with a clear understanding of their role, in line with best practice. In this case, the PMO Service Catalogue, the PMO Competency Framework (developed by the House of PMO) and the Praxis Framework.

 

The Essentials for PMO Administrators qualification is suitable for complete beginners and those currently in support roles within a PMO (for example, Project Administrators, Project Co-ordinator and Project Support Officers). It is also suitable for aspiring Project Managers with minimal project management knowledge looking to gain a foothold in their career.

Essentials for PMO Analysts training and certification is aimed at current PMO Analysts, PMO Coordinators, Project Support Officers and those moving from a business operations role into a PMO. This course suits those with foundation-level knowledge of project, programme or portfolio management. As a result, a formally recognised Project Management certification at the Foundation level is a prerequisite. Completion of internal organisation-led courses is also accepted.

Essentials for PMO Managers is aimed at current PMO Managers or PMO Leads, especially those new or moving into this role. The training is also suitable for those aspiring to be PMO Managers and senior Project or Programme Managers moving into a PMO leadership position.

Essentials for PMO Directors is aimed at current PMO Directors or PMO Leads, especially those new or moving into this role. The training is also suitable for those aspiring to be PMO Directors and senior Project or Programme Managers moving into a PMO leadership position.
