At Level Two of the PMO career path, professionals take on roles such as PMO Analysts, Co-ordinators, Planners and more experienced Project Support Officers.
At this level we see PMO practitioners working in Portfolio Management Offices; Programme Offices and Project Offices so learning and development at this level covers all of these.
It might feel like a large jump from the project support roles to supporting portfolios but there is a progression which is supported by the PMO certifications and training available.

Essentials for PMO Analysts™

The Essentials for PMO Analysts™ course is a perfect fit for PMO practitioners working at the Analyst level.
The course is focused on two core areas – first, the service-based approach to providing services from the PMO. Second, the core competences, knowledge, skills and behaviours required to perform the role of PMO Analyst successfully.
This is a five-day course and includes the examination on the final day.
It’s a course that is certified by APMG and created by the House of PMO, the professional body for PMO practitioners, so you’ll receive a formal qualification and a certification if you pass the course.

- Gain the essential knowledge and understanding to undertake the role of a PMO Analyst.

The P3O Foundation course is the ideal follow on course after Essentials for PMO Administrators.
The course is all about the structure of PMOs; the different types of PMO; the functions and services they provide and how PMOs operate in an organisation.
It’s a high-level course that helps you to understand current best practice in PMOs and starts building your knowledge in PMO functions and services.
This is a three-day course and includes the examination on the final day.
It’s a course which is certified by Peoplecert and AXELOS, so you’ll receive a formal qualification and a certification if you pass the course.
P3O is considered to be the most recognised PMO certified course in the UK today.
With this course:
- You’ll learn about the different types, models and frameworks of PMO.
- You’ll gain an understanding of why businesses need PMOs and which configuration of PMOs work well.
