We’re pleased to share that PMO Learning will be exhibiting at the PMO Conference in Edinburgh on Wednesday 12th November. It’s always a highlight in the PMO calendar and a great opportunity to connect with so many people who care deeply about developing strong, effective PMOs.

We’ll be there throughout the day to talk about professional development, PMO training, and the different ways organisations are approaching capability building right now. Whether you’re just starting in PMO or managing an established team, it’s always useful to compare notes, share experiences, and see what others are doing across different industries.

Why conferences matter for PMO professionals

Conferences like this one play an important role in how PMO professionals keep learning. There’s real value in stepping away from the day-to-day and taking time to listen, reflect, and connect. You get to hear fresh perspectives, challenge some assumptions, and often come away with one or two ideas that change how you think about your own PMO.

It’s also a reminder that you’re part of a much wider community with people working through similar challenges, just in different contexts. Those conversations, even the informal ones over coffee, can spark ideas or offer reassurance that you’re heading in the right direction.

Session highlight: Zoe O’Toole on “Framing PMO: Speak Their Language, Show the Value”

One of the sessions we’re especially looking forward to is from Zoe O’Toole, one of our associate trainers. Zoe delivers our Essentials for PMO Managers and Essentials for PMO Directors courses, and her talk this year focuses on how to communicate the value of PMO in a way that truly connects with leadership.

Her session, “Framing PMO: Speak Their Language, Show the Value”, explores how PMOs can position their work so it’s understood and appreciated in business terms. Rather than talking about models or frameworks, Zoe focuses on listening and understanding what leaders care about, how they make decisions, and how they prefer information to be shared. She’ll also share real examples showing how small shifts in communication can build trust and help leaders see PMO as a partner in solving real business problems.
