Hi,

You’ve given really clear guidance where people have perhaps held dual roles, or have both PM and PMO experience, and how to reference this in the opening section of a CV, but I’m less clear about ‘X years’ experience’. I’ve worked in Project Management for 7-8yrs but I’ve only been a PMO Project Controller for the last 18 months, but my experience has been built up over 24 years of working engineering and project management. So what do I put in my CV, 18 months, 8 years, or 24 years?

Hi Kev
So in the summary you would probably write something like, “over 20 years experience in engineering, project management and PMO” – it’s just a summary, a hirer can work out the exact spread if they want to from the rest of the CV.
