Course Overview

The P3O Foundation Certification is considered to be the second entry-level training and certification for those working in a Programme or Project Management Office.

The course covers the fundamentals of P3O, giving you a solid foundation in the P3O model, the terminology and concepts involved – the course also covers the key functions and services in a P3O model – considered to be one of the most useful areas for a PMO practitioner. The course also covers the tools and techniques used in a P3O and looks at the different types of PMOs with the model.

Understand the key differences between Portfolio, Programme and Project Management.
Explore the key functions and services of a P3O.
Understand the reasons for establishing a P3O model.
Learn about the differences between types of P3O model and the factors that influence the selection of the most appropriate model.
Identify the processes to implement or re-energize a P3O.
Learn about the tools and techniques used by a P3O.
Understand the purpose and significant responsibilities of the defined roles in a P3O.
Prepare to pass the P3O Foundation exam and become P3O Foundation certified.

You’ll receive all seven learner modules over the course of six weeks via email and with easy access through your online account with us. All modules will include supporting materials which you’ll use on a step-by-step basis to help get you ready to take the P3O Foundation examination.

You’ll also have access to the learner forum to ask questions, receive answers from the tutor and see what other learners have asked.

What happens when I first purchase the course?

You’ll receive an email straight away which gives you access to your learner account at PMO Learning.

You’ll also receive your first email which details everything you need to get started with your P3O Foundation distance-learning course.

What form does the course take?

You’ll be receiving emails over the course of six weeks which takes you through the modules for P3O Foundation.

These emails notify you when your content is available through your PMO Learning account.

The content includes the syllabus areas you need to study with the P3O manual; exam tips; access to the learner’s forum to ask any questions and practice exams.

You’ll receive an email for each module of the course.

How long does the course take?

You’ll be receiving emails over a six week period – it’s advised that you take your time learning each module and we think six weeks is an ideal length of time for this type of learning.

Your P3O Foundation exam voucher is valid for up to 12 months from purchase but we advise that you sit your exam soon after completing your six-week course.

No, it’s a correspondence course which means you receive emails and content which directs you to learn P3O via the manual.

We highlight which sections are included within the exam; share exam tips; include the syllabus and provide direction on key messages.

There are no videos to watch or slides to click through.

How do I gain support throughout the course?

You will have access to a learner’s forum where you are able to post questions to the trainer. You’ll also see other learner’s previous questions and responses too.

If its deemed appropriate the trainer will be able to assist you on a 1-2-1 basis if your question can’t be answered through the forum.
