MoP® Certifications For PMO Teams
What is MoP®?
PMO practitioners have chosen MoP because they’re working at a portfolio level – within a Portfolio Management Office or an Enterprise PMO (ePMO). In this type of role, it is important to understand how portfolio management determines which projects and programmes an organisation decides to do and when.
MoP is concerned with two issues:
- how to choose the optimal projects and programmes to suit your organization’s strategic objectives
- how to execute them to optimize value for customers and other stakeholders.
PeopleCert have two MoP® certifications:
- Management of Portfolios (MoP®) – Foundation
- Management of Portfolios (MoP®) – Practitioner
The MoP® Foundation Certification is aimed at those new to working in portfolios and involved in a range of formal and informal portfolio management roles, including investment decision making, project and programme delivery, and benefits realisation.
The MoP® Practitioner level course is specifically for those leading or managing a Portfolio function and those working as members of Management Boards and Directors of Change; Senior Responsible Owners (SROs); Portfolio, Programme, Project, Business Change and Benefits Managers; and business case writers and project appraisers.

Why train together as a team?
If you have six or more members of staff wanting to take either just the MoP® Foundation course or the MoP® Foundation and Practitioner, it is much more cost and time effective to host the training course yourself. All you need to do is let us know your preferred dates and the location, either virtual or at a physical location of your choice. We will provide the certified trainer with all the course materials and examinations. Small amounts of customisation can also be incorporated into the certification training to bring further relevance to learners.
Benefits to team training;
- Consistency in knowledge – everyone shares a consistent understanding of PMO principles, methodologies, and best practices.
- Collaborate together – team members can discuss and apply the concepts learned in the course, promoting knowledge sharing and problem-solving.
- Build a common language – when the entire team is trained together, it establishes a common language and vocabulary.
- Shared commitment – shared learning experiences can boost team morale.
- Retention and Onboarding – treating staff well and giving them opportunities to develop and learn.
